The scones, clotted cream and jam were heavenly. They give you many tea selections and keep refilling your hot water. We did high tea and there is so much food we couldn't finish it all. The room and the entire Queen Victoria Building are beautiful. Yet, if you are new to high teas, you will feel comfortable and pampered. Service was excellent but not overwhelming.
Bad service, disappointed afternoon tea experience.
Everything was good, except a front desk waiter was a little bit rude.
Scones were big and tasty and the environment was pretty and good.
It costed around 90 per head. The food came around 10:40. But at around 11:55am a waiter came to give us the bill and said we should go immediately. However we haven’t finished our food at that time. That rude waiter came twice asked us to leave and his attitude was very rude. We knew there are two hour limitation for the restaurant. If there were two hours, we should still had at least 15-30 minutes. What’s more, no customers waited outside and there are still more than 20 tables and 100 seats at that time. What a bad experience in Sydney. Thanks to him, he gave me the rudest and poorest experience in Sydney🤣
This venue has always been my 'go to' place for myself, for my family and for the gifting of a high tea to friends. I attended with my two sisters today as part of our birthday celebrations. The wait staff, as always, were helpful and polite and the venue is a winner, but, with what felt like a stingy serve of Orange Peko tea and some lacklustre sandwiches, I was left wondering why I haven't explored other venues.
I came here for my birthday not too long ago with my friend. We enjoyed the high tea and our server was very nice, I don't remember her name, though. The atmosphere was lovely, however I almost wish it were busier as the dining hall seemed a bit empty, but a few people came and went while we were there. I definitely enjoyed the savoury foods, especially the cute little sandwiches.
The foods were decent for the price tag. The scones, similar to the size of a burger, tasted good but a little too large. I couldn’t eat any other stuffs after finishing the scones. 😂 Service was exceptional. The waiting staff was very responsive to customers’ requests. The place was quiet and not too crowded. It’s perfect for special occasions. I would give them a perfect score had they provided the option of lactose-free milk (they offered almond milk or soy milk as alternative but they just taste different). Since my local cafes and even cafe at Timezone (a game arcade) serve lactose-free milk at no extra cost, I do expect such option to be available at a fine-dining restaurant.
The place is very beautiful, the general atmosphere, and the service is good. Nevertheless, I have some remarks. I imagined before coming to this place that the type of music is different so that it is classic and synchronized with the time period of the palace, so that we can live the experience in its details. Also, the waitress is the one who pours tea into the cup for the first time and then the customer takes over this. The task, as in other restaurants of this kind in Britain was to bring tweezers to transfer sweets or sandwiches to my plate, but when I asked for them, the waitress brought them. As for the food it was better or the menu had more details about the dishes, their ingredients or their names, so that what was inappropriate was excluded. For me this is everything except that the general atmosphere is excellent and I will repeat the visit again.
Delicious! Amazing service from the staff.
They made sure to place us close to the rest room so that we could change our baby.
Thank you for a lovely experience with Delicious food!
The most Luxurious tea room I’ve ever been to. Fine China tea set, tasty cake and sweet, nice music, spacious floor….I love all of them. We had good time there.
